Here's a picture of a pen I finished today. It's made by "tube on" clear casting Dichrolam Material. This one is called "Fire Burl" and has a purplized look to it.
I'll be making small batches of these, along with "Titanium Burl" and "Red Burl", to see if there is a demand for them. It's a challenging material, making it hard to hide the seam. I feel pretty good with the process I've ironed out to do just that. The last picture is of the seam. This is one of the most expensive materials I've used to make a pen, so I will only be making them for pen components that can handle a higher price. Like my Opal blanks, this too is hard to photograph but looks GREAT in the light! These pictures appear a little lighter than what the material is in real life.
