Oh my.
I thought the diagonal bocote was gorgeous until I saw the two tone Amboyna burl.

I think Amboyna burl is probably as pretty a wood as there is. Consistently beautiful.

Excellent pens.

Do you find the DK rollerballs difficult to assemble? I had to file out the inside of the brass tube to be able get a fit that's just moderately snug after the first two cracked. I bought a pile of these and the extra work is just a time pit. 😥

They are the gold standard for easy to me. I do use a tool to soften the inner edge of the brass tube on both sides. I do this with all pens.

I gave up on Sierra pens after numerous cracked tubes during insertion. I was careful to no avail. Diamond Knurl never cracks the tube (IMHO).

USUALLY, if the tube is a tight fit, there is still adhesive inside it.
They are designed to be snug, and, as Mark says, it is wise to ream the ends to remove any burrs that might remain after "facing".

Great looking pen, Mark!! Congrats on the front page!
