Desire with a Amalgam-Mutt Blank

I'd been wanting to turn a pen with this blank for a while - I'm probably going to keep this one for myself. It's one of their lava explosion designs.

How did you attach the cabochon/finial on the cap?

I just used epoxy. I scrapped the stainless a bit to give it a bit more grip.

I need to look at the cap again - I know it's bolted together but there might be enough room to drill a small hole and leave a foot on the finial for more purchase. When I make the Baron line I epoxy it to the top and then add some epoxy from inside as well.
