Desert Ironwood

I'm about to turn a pen from Desert Ironwood. Know it's going to be a beauty, any tips or things I need to know about the wood? Thanks. I'll post in the SOYP forum when I'm done.

Desert Ironwood is one of my very favorite woods to turn. It turns easily, and takes a nice finish and is beautiful. I've never experienced any problems turning DIW nor have I experienced any bad smells when turning it. Then again, I don't mind the smell of turning antler either so perhaps my sense of smell is a bit off kilter.
