The question about favorite woods in this thread prompted me to post this Churchill in one of my favorite woods, Desert Ironwood. Sanded to 1500 and finished with Board Butter, of all things.

Very nice looking pen!
I also made my first pen recently with desert ironwood. It has striking grain contrasts and sands very smoothly, a great wood to work with.

Cook Woods had some pen blank-sized not too long ago. They may still have a bit left.
