More Ironwood on my favorite kit! There was going to be a wooden band too, but I kept breaking it until I ran out of extra blank! Wood bands are a little more touchy than acrylic. The finish is lacquer and I'm really happy with it.

Nice job joe. I like that kit too....just wish they had it in premium plating.

Ed stresses this often, but chrome is one of the more durable platings out there. I consider it a premium plating despite the fact that it's common and inexpensive. A gunmetal version (or black T/N) would be really cool!

I like the finial though. I can imagine it would be hard to make the ring and they would be very fragile. Nice job on the rest of the pen though.

Really great looking! I do like the classy look of the a Triton finial embellishment, but yours is excellent. Just keep the original somewhere for something special.
