Pricing question? I've got a used Delta 46-460 that is in good shape. I'm using this lathe to do all of my work on at the moment. I've got a co-worker that wants to find a used lathe to get started on. I've mentioned that I might sell mine & upgrade. I'm not sure what these lathes are going for used?

Any ideas on price value? Cannot afford to give it away since the funds will be put toward a new Jet 1221. But I don't want to over price it either. Thanks...

I'm thinking of doing the same thing (except I'm looking at a different new lathe), so I'll be watching.

My opinion would be 60 - 75% of their selling price today depending on condition. You may have to take as low as 50% of their retail price!

You can get them new at Woodcraft for just over $700.00
Depending on how good a friends he is, would decide the price for me.

Check out amazon and craigs list in your area. You might be surprised.

General rule of thumb is 50% of current best new price --

Adjusted up or down for condition, and expect that new in the box resale will be about 80% of retail -

How good a friend helps set the price, or how many extras/duplicates you throw in the package.

I bought my Delta 46-460 used for $400 last year. It was a year old and in good shape. No stand, lathe only.
