I am trying to make some table inserts for my Grizzly bandsaw. Does anyone know if it would be good to make them out of a 1/4" Delrin sheet? Thanks.

I have a bag of premade one that just slide into place -- form Rockler as I remember.

The plastic ones are much better fit than the old one from Aluminum that came with the saw.

I have a Grizzly G0513x2 17" bandsaw. No one makes the inserts for them.:frown:

I have been using 1/4" crap board for them, but they don't hold up for more than 3 or 4 cuts.

I was wondering about delrin because it comes in 1/4.

Padre what shape are the inserts? they do have different diameter rods in uhmw as well just search ebay for UHMW

They are round, the regular 'throat plate' or "blade insert" on the table saw.

You might try Laird Plastics in Enfield. I buy my acrylic sheet there but I know they carry other types. Ask if they have scrap pieces. They just moved there from Springfield, so they are still getting set up. They have been very helpful to me. They usually have scrap room where they sell small pieces by the pound ($1.50).
