Delrin-------need help

I am wanting to make a couple of things ----first is molds for casting resin and the second is a small vac chuck--maybe 3 inch.
Anyway after looking around what I am seeing is called Delrin/Acetal.
Is this the right stuff or something different than Delrin.
Thanks for the help I already buy enough stuff that doesn't work.

Hi,Gary..yes acetal is delrin.
We use a fair bit of it at work
and it is always marked acetal.
I believe delrin is sort of a trade name.
It comes in natural(white),and black.
The black machines just a touch cleaner imho.
Not enough to make a big difference,though.

I bought Delrin from them when I was making stuff from it and selling it.
 
Frank what kind of stuff did you make from Delrin. Heck until I saw it here I had never heard of of it.
I know it makes great molds but is it the correct material for vac chucks??????
 
Alan I thought about that but my sales of calls ain't worth talking about-----I am wanting to try a Gun & Knife show this year and see if they do better----Got a question for you--goose calls---what is your price range---I am thinking that mine are overpriced.

I made loading rods for muzzle loading rifles. They were intended to be used on the shooting range and for hunting. The material doesn't break, is soft and non-damaging to the barrels and is very strong.
Also tried making stoppers and inlays for game calls. But being so slippery and not glue-able it wasn't practical.
 
Alan this could be my trouble----this may be something I need to stay away from. I can spend a day making a good goose call---the fastest I have ever been is three in a day.
Heck if I maked mine down to half price they would still be expensive----Hummmmm
