Sanding without the belt is really bad! Like having the lathe sit there doing nothing and remembering you unplugged it.
"To err is human; To really screw it up, you need a computer."
We have seen the cartoon with the guy holding a sledge hammer over the computer- Strike any key to continue.
Had a situation where one of my emails gets emails but they are buried in old emails. Have to scroll down to find them. CSR tried for 30 minutes to solve it but had to hand off to an upper lever IT.

As a lifetime software engineer, that is exactly how you're supposed to fix computer problems.
Yep. About 80 percent of the time a shut down and restart will fix the problem...not just a reboot, but a total power off and restart. I have my clients trained to try that before even calling me!

I started flying the F-16 in the early days of the airplane and it was so computerized that many experienced pilots had trouble transitioning from analog aircraft. One instructor was teaching some of the electronic systems, each of which had a Built In Test (BIT) feature and when something went wrong, often the fix was to do the BIT check to fix it. This instructor was a realist and a joker. He suggested that we all carried a mirror in our flight suits and when anything went wrong the first thing to do was the Pilot BIT Check. Just like Pogo, most of the time "we have met the enemy and it is us"

Definition of insanity continued. You have a blank that won’t take a good finish. But you strip and refinish again and again (and again) with different finishes. Still no good. It’s time to toss but now you are pissed. So back to trying to refinish. There was a bird outside my house that kept flying into the window...and while doing that he was laughing at me. Am I insane. I know I’m crazy... when I put my hand in my pocket I feel nuts.

You may have a hole in your pocket.
