Deburing the tube before starting

I am finding out that deburing the tube before you start and after you glue it in the blank are 2 very important steps.
of all the deburing tools I have. I find the one from RCBS that is designed for reloading works the best. it is designed to debur the inside and outside. I had been using a 60° chamfer tool for the inside but was having problems when trying to insert in the blank. and found burs on the outside of the tub end. and let me just say if the tube does not go because of a bur and you have lready smeared glue in the blank and on the tube you have a mess on your hands.

I can honestly say, I've never deburred any of the tubes I've received with a kit. Never had the need to.
I turn between centers, sans bushings, and get a 60º chamfer on the inside of each end just from that.

Never deburred, but sounds like a great quick little idea since anything to make insertion easier and more efficient is very worth while. Thanks for brining this up.......Now, where did I last put my little deburring tool???

I always deburr before I insert any components. I use that same tool. Have been ever since I started making pens. It has held up well. I say it is a good idea to do this. It helps start the parts better when pressing.

I have never deburred the outside but always deburr the inside before assembly.

I use the Noga Debur Tool.

Probably not as good as the ones referrenced above, but when I ocassionally debur a tube, I have used this. I think I have the same one since 2014. The one that I bought was light grey with the orange ends.HD Debur Tool
