:mad:Well I'm getting just a little cabin fever, we're getting more snow although not as bad as Tuesday at least the winds aren't blowing 50MPH.
I haven't been outside for 4 days other than to stand on the back covered patio to make sure or Corgi wasn't lost in a drift when we let him out. Been wanting to make a few pens for the contests going on but the shop is 50 feet away and the snow is 2-3 feet deep.....

Roy,
Your comment about your Corgi made me laugh. When I was a kid, we had a basset. She got stuck in a snow drift and cried until my mother finally heard her and rescued her. We have a 10-year old, overweight, arthritic Rottweiler we rescued, and she is struggling with the icy porch and walks. My wife has resorted to putting a towel under her as a sling to give her support getting back into the house.

My cabin fever is a little different. It is bitter cold here in Colorado, but no heavy snows like practically everywhere else, that would keep me stuck inside.

I am home rehab'ing from hip surgery. I have not been to the shop in about 10 days. I am walking, and even doing stairs, but not stable enough to stand at a lathe, and feel confident. I think that would be a mistake until I'm a little stronger.

In the meantime, I'll keep dreaming about the next project!

I'm in the same boat. I haven't been out since Tuesday, I live in North Texas and have received some new material for turning. Getting frustrated like you.:biggrin:

We've been in the 40's at night and high 50's & low 60's most days this past week here in E. Tennessee, but it's raining today and predicting maybe some ice and snow tonight and tomorrow... haven't had a chance to get to the shop though... Monday the wife had a pre-op scheduled with the doctor's office, then eye surgery on Wednesday, then post-op on Thursday... because she was going to be house bound for a week, I took her out for lunch on Tuesday and conveniently remembered I needed to go to Lowe's for a sheet of plywood... anytime we go out for just about anything, it's 1/2 to full day excursion since we're 40-50 miles from about anything we need... closest Lowe's and Chinese restaurant is 40 miles over to Athens, the doctor's office is in Maryville - 45 miles, the Pre-op was in west Knoxville 52 miles, post-op was back at same place in west Knoxville 52 miles... the shop is about 30 yards behind the house in the rain....

Reminds me of last year in Richmond. This year the opposite - the other day it hit 66mph - no I mean degrees:biggrin:

But like Jeff said - at least you can make an edible pen.

Stay warm my friend.

Hang in there Roy. The neighbors kid left my house 2 hours ago, $50 richer from shoveling 2ft of snow of my roofs, I feel your pain

Been Colder than a Well diggers belt buckle here for the past 5 days but we've dodged most of the bad stuff so far, all of the swamps are frozen over sure wish I wasn't so stove up, I'd like to go ice skating. it's finally been cold long enough for it. My luck I would really screw something up, So I'll sit and think about making a few pens I shouldn't get hurt too bad doing that..

Put your feet up

Well Roy, what I would do is, sit on the sofa, lean back, put my feet up and let it all pass. It's been too darn cold for me to work all winter...so I don't.There will be another day if we don't kill ourselves worrying about this one.
