So this Sunday when my daughter was over, my wife decided to start working with her on how to turn wood on the big lathe. I had asked my daughter if she wanted to learn so she could make her grandmother a pen for Christmas and she said she did. My daughter is 13, and loves to draw. While I worked on building a stand for my grinder my wife worked with her. She ended up turning 2 candle stick holders out of some oak I got from my uncle. We asked her how she liked it and she said it was a lot of fun. My wife asked her if she wanted to do more when she came over and she was all for it. Next I think I will have her try to do a key chain so she can get down using bushings. My wife told me later she had worked with her because she knows how inpatient I can be lol. Besides it gave them some time to do something together which is always nice.

No pictures, didn't happen. You know the rules.

Hope you are also teaching safety in the shop. Quality time well spent.

LOL! Well she had to leave pretty much when she was done. And yes, she was wearing my wife's face shield along with dust mask. Wife was with her the whole time and I even heard her tell her that when she wants to use the equipment to first come to my wife or I. I did email her asking for some pictures. Told her to use her mom's phone to send to me.

here is the picture of the two candle stick holders my daughter turned.

It is nice when your kids show an interest in what you and your wife do.
