This is my second "snow" day from work.

Great chance for some shop time, right? Here is the temperature inside my garage shop.

Considering it is 4* outside! that is probably pretty good. Guess, I won't be turning today either.

Don't like the weather in Alabama? Just wait a little while. It's supposed to be in 60's this weekend.

On a side note: Southern Rednecks and ice/snow can make an entertaining combination.

Considering it is
4° (° = alt + 0176, assuming the num. lock is on)

Only trying to help!

Thanks. I posted this from my iPad. Have not found all of the symbols on it.

Try holding down some of the virtual keys for a few seconds, I'm pretty sure that's the trick on iPads.

I am right outside Columbus, GA, in sin city and it's 10°. We had about 2 inches of ice on the roads and maybe 2 inches of snow. Much of that was melting yesterday and hopefully all of it will be gone today, suppose to reach 46° today and early next week 72°!

I have seen much worse snow (4 feet in Virginia) and contrary to what the media and northern residents the ice was more problems than the snow. We have no equipment to handle the ice/snow on the roads so there is no salting, no sanding, no scraping of any form. I would love to how long a northern state would hold up given the same conditions. Take away their entire fleet and ability to treat roads and the like.

On another note, the last snowfall here in sin city (2005) was 3.3 blue moons ago (7 times in 19 years), so 9 years ago. So the once in a blue moon comment does not hold water, it was 3.3 blue moons ago, not 1 :)

Really cold here in Hampton, VARIOUS too. 6° right now. I lived here for about 30 year and I've never seen it this cold. I won't be making ant pens until the weekend. We really need to do something about global warming so we won't have these blasted cold winter's. I'm going in to P.T.W. (pen turnovers withdrawal). Hope everyone it staying warm and if your going out be safe. The side roads around here are a real mess.

The basement in my house is 47 degrees F - What's the problem?

My garage shop is 0, so I just move indoors to the basement shop, I think it's nice and warm.

Happy Turning
Tom

Aside from no snow removal equipment etc. here in the south there is one big difference from the north, I lived in Michigan before coming to Georgia. in the north the temp. stays below freezing 24/7. Here the temp gets above freezing during the day, as soon as the sun goes down the roads freeze. Roads are then very hazardous until a complete melt and dry off. In Michigan there was never a melt and it was very dry. never has a problem getting around.
