These two bowls are from a Blank that came from my Mate George (robutation) I haven't worked the outer part of the blank yet, but absolutely love the Growth ring pattern in this wood. We are not sure which Cypress species the wood is but it sure is pretty.
The bowls are sanded to 400 and finished with Shellawax Glow.
The middle size bowl is 7.5in x 3.75in and the small one is 5in x 1.5in.
Thanks for looking and C & C are welcome.

Bob,

Those turned out magnificent, I look forwards to see the first piece from the blank that you cored and got these one from...!

Coring is certainly a great way to utilize good blanks, getting 2 to 3 bowls/pieces out of one decent size blank, is definitely the way to go...!

The finish really looks as smooth as a baby's bottom...!

Keep up the good work, mate...!

Cheers
George

Bob,
Those are Super! Beautiful grain and they look so smooth that you want to rub your hands over them!
Are you coring these from one piece?

Yes Mate, there are three pieces from this blank. Depending on the size of the blank it is possible to get 5 bowls from 1 12inch blank, but it would have to be 6inches thick to get that many.

Very beautiful, and I agree that the grain is incredible. Trying to compare it to other timbers, but not coming up with any - very unique!
