Cutting board - Red Oak and Purple heart
with mote & handle
Finished this for her this past weekend
She refuses to use it.....
Says its to pretty!
Women!!!
If you can figure them out... Please clue me in.

Hope you sealed it well -- Red Oak has soda straw type tubes that will leak fluids through it. Love the wood, but learned to make sure the tubes were well sealed or leaks happened.

Yep, that is a way to tell red oak from white oak. :wink:

Good looking pattern. Just melt (low heat, no open flame please) a little beeswax into some mineral oil, slather on and buff out. :) Should seal it right up. Parafin wax would probably be OK too but sounds much more impressive when you say you used beeswax!

Nice board..I can see why your wife wishes to hang it, not use it..but Mrs mobrackett he can make more!!! Use it or have him make a 2nd one! you can also use one side to cut up stuff and hang the non-used side out on the wall
