Cutting board and cake display

I've taken a bit of time off pens to focus on finishing up Christmas presents.

First up is a cake display made with made with Honduran Mahogany and maple inlays. Topped with an Anchor-Hocking cake dome

The end grain cutting board is made from cherry, black locust, osage orange, purpleheart and hard maple. A little disappointed that my glue up was off a hair, but overall it turned out well

How was the Bois d' Arc to work with? Must have been old to be dry enough...

Very nice. A fellow in our old woodturning club made one for his daughter. It was three pieces so it could be stored in a drawer.

Not bad, it's kiln dried from my lumber yard

That cutting board is a beautiful effort to show off the grain of those woods. Too bad about the glue up but still a nice piece.
