This was a first for me and a "make it up as I go" project. I had seen the guitar cutouts and got an idea. My sons drum teacher loves green so for Christmas I decided to try a Rockler wireless speaker kit in this customer made bass drum I cast out of alumilite. I made the hardware out of altered jewelry clasps and the metal straps were metal duct tape. The front and back were 1/4" ply painted pearl color with his name In black on the front. Definitely a learning experience and one of a kind.

I should have added it's 4" in diameter. I cast the solid piece in a large paint mixing cup and hollowed it out with a lip for the front and back panel.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I still have a lot to learn in this hobby but it sure is fun now that I have more time to play.

As a former drummer I'm digging this. The colors of the blank are perfect, it looks like the kind of high end veneer wrapped drums I drooled over many times. All around a fantastic job.
