Curious about CA finish

I'm a noob as you can tell from the question but the curiosity has me. When you use CA glue as a finish, why doesn't it glue the bushings to the pen and/or mandrel?

There's usually some "stickage", the severity can depend on the amount of glue and how much of it overlaps on the bushing. There are techniques to minimize the effect, like waxing your bushings before applying CA, and carefully turning the glue off the bushing with a sharp tool, to tapping the glued bushing/tube on a hard surface to crack the bond. Good question - find a technique that works for you!

To add to what Steve said, you can also do the CA finish Between Centers (no bushings or mandrel).
