I made my wife an ice cream scoop i got from exotic blanks. They currently have them on sale. I had this culrata rosewood laying around and thought I'd see what it looked like. I checkered the handle with my Sorby wheel tool.

Beautiful work ! How did you get the checkering so consistently spaced ? Looks perfect.
I just used a sorby decorating tool. It has the wheel. I just did 2 different angles in different directions. Like a 45 degree 1 way and then a 45 the other way. Im not great at using the tool but it really is super easy. I have the mini one.

I got mine off Ebay really cheap. It was just the tool with no handle and it only had the right and left cutting wheels. I had a handle that fit but you can get 1 for like $10 anyway, and CSUSA has the wheel I used that isn't supplied. I want to say it was around $60 all in all. It's the micro version but all the micro/mini attachment will fit the same handle.
