Slowly moving away from using (complete) kits... found some time and good natural light to take pictures of the pen I finished last weekend. C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

Very nice !! . Your first closed end pen ?

You did a nice job with the Padauk, particularly in that you seem to have avoided getting "white spots" in the surface pores.

How did you go about that ?

The first closed end I am overall satisfied with and willing to share. I have struggled with finishing the ends without leaving marks (especially on the square-ish ends, still haven't figured that one). As for avoiding white spots, I am not sure, probably beginner's luck :D.
Thanks for your encouragements Mal!

Thanks, Fred.

I really like the clean, uniform shape. What kit, if you don't mind ?

The parts are from the Triton upgrade gold and chrome kit. Two of the bands for the cap assembly are not attached to the rest so I got rid of the middle one (chrome) and used the extra gold one under the nib assembly. That way the cap and the body have the same diameter where they join.
Now I need to figure what I can do with the kit parts I didn't use
