I ordered one of those a while back to use in a rifle cartridge pencil that someone had ordered. I could not get the mechanism to work correctly.
 
With the business, I will be probably becoming a cross vendor. I will see what we can do with pricing...however it may not be until Sept. - Oct. before I am fully set up.
 
I want to know if anybody has tried purchasing the fp nib assemblies they have listed, and if so how they worked, and can a kitless pen be threaded to accept them with a standard tap? If so which.

Any specs on the nibs themselves, who makes them, ect?
 
Cross Pen to Pencil Converter

I just received an order of the Cross pen to pencil converters and have tried two of them and can't get either one to work.

When you cllick it, the lead does extend but when you try to write with it the lead goes back into the converter, it does not lock in place.

Am I missing something I am supposed to do to get the lead to lock in place? I called customer support and then said they can't help other then let me return them.

Any suggestions?

Same here....and the video doesn't give any help. Tried it both in and out of the pen, same results. The lead pushed back in.

Ditto! Without modifications I had no luck. No desire to have to modify them.
 
On their website they mention that there are switch-it compatible pens that are able to use this refill ... that would suggest some can't use it? Maybe not all pens that use the cross type refill will work? :confused:

Thanks everyone for the assistance. Evidently it does not work on all cross pens. When you get them the back of the packaging says it works with ballpoint pens marked with a date code. I don't know how that would equate to our pens to see whether it would work or not.

Anyway they are sending me a return slip. If they are this hard to get to work properly, my customers will never get it right and it will cause me a lot of headaches.

I got one to work repeatably...Had to push the transmission in firther then normal. Hitting an exact dimension is crucial to correct operation. I also had to wrap the threads on the refill with tissue to keep it in. There was a sloppy fit with the threads...I was using the black stripe kit from Woodcraft. I've thought of filling the hib with solder or resin and redrilling to getr the right length......It's on the winterr project list..
