Crimson Gold

I finally got the resin formula dialed in. I was going for an Oriental feel with it, and the gold hardware is a perfect match.

Castin Craft resin, LOTS of CC red dye, Aztec Gold PearlEx, and a dash of black enamel paint.

Real nice, Don. Just a question, what did the black enamel do for it? Maybe just deepen the red somehow? Just curious, it looks great. Is that the kit you bought at Rockler the other night?!!!

Yup. I bought that kit specifically for this resin.

The black darkened the red significantly. The CC red dye is too bright for this mix, so I was playing around with adding black. I tried some Alumilite dye, but it made it look muddy. The paint was a winner. Just a drop was all it took to darken the red to where I wanted it.
