These are made using some transparent type blanks and reverse painted. The blanks are from Bear Tooth Woods.

Gold one used Smoky Citrine Mist Acrylic. Painted Apricot.

Chrome one used Phantom Mist Acrylic. Painted Parchment.

Mal,

I used liquitex artist acrylic paints for the inside of the blanks and generic spray paint to do the brass tubes white. I also tinted my epoxy with the same acrylic paint I used on the blanks.

James I look forward anytime that you show your pens. The photos are always exceptional and I don't mind telling you that I save them in a special photo album. Thanks for sharing your work.:)

I really like the kit since it shows off a larger portion of a blank. It is very simple to turn and is a nice size for smaller hands ( I think anyways ) since it is shorter then a Sierra type.

When I assemble I press the clip, brass clip holder insert and the decorative band at the same time.

The only issue I have had with them is that sometimes a small piece if metal is left inside the finial that interferes with full seating. It can be broken off easily.

James, Both pens are beautifully done!
Your matching of the blanks to the components is spot on!
First class pics as well!
