I bought a bottle of liquid Rit dye. Does anyone have any pointers as to how I dye the cob with it. It seem like I read somehere about mixing it withe Denatured Alcohol. I know that I have to turn and sand it first but that is about all I know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dyeing?

While I have only used powdered rit, the process would most likely be the same. Mix a small amount in a small plastic food tub that your sweety was going to throw away. Dye the blanks, and then let the DNA evaporate so you can use it again the next time you want to dye something. Repeat applications till you get the color you want. There is no big magic to it, and one of the guys in our local turning clup has had great sucess with muliple colors although I think pen blanks might be to small for that treatment. Good luck.
