Anyone tried Beal Buffs on corian? How did it do?

I have always wet sanded corian thru the micromesh grits then polished with a good auto polish and have been wondering if the Beal Buffs would save time and do just as well.

Hello David. I have been working with corian a very long time.and of course everyone has their own method. What I do is.I sand with regular paper from 120 to 600 Then I use the abranet sheets wet sand from 120 to 400.That should take care of your sanding.I then take the blanks still on the mandrel over to the buffing wheel and I buff using the white tripoli from HF.It puts a really nice shine on the pen.
I'm not saying this is the best way I am saying its the best way I have found to work for me. I hope this helps!!!
Happy turning!

Any particular reason you skip the brown tropli? I assume the HF white tropli is the same as Beal's white diamond.

You would assume incorrectly. All compounds are not created equal.
The less expensive compounds are mostly grease and little grit along with inconsistent particle size.
The better grades are consistent and take very little to accomplish the finish.

Even with solid surface materials, you shouldn't need to sand past 400 grit, then trip and WR. That will give fairly nice results.
Even with buffing, you need a flat/even surface or the buffing will magnify the imperfections.
