Copper Pen kits

I bought a variety pack of slimline kits off Amazon (Crooked Mill) and one of them is a copper kit. What wood goes well with copper - either a particular wood or a general wood color? I can't seem to find anything.

I like Cocobolo with copper, but be careful turning it cause some folks are allergic.

Walnut works well. Darker browns work. I like to use a cast copper braid when using copper pens.

To join the thread; Don't overlook Synthetics, a copper acrylic matches well with copper pen kits.

I have used both Red Cedar and Chechen on copper kits. Something darker or that has a redish tinge works well.

My favorite for copper is Desert Ironwood followed closely by Cocobolo and Redwood (burl from RockB) - Dave

Personally I prefer to use a darker wood when working with copper. Something like Wenge or maybe black palm?

One of the first pens I ever made was copper and bolivian rosewood. Gave it to my wife - she's still using it 10 years later and she loves it.

I like Cocobolo. The hardware in the pic is Big Ben Cigar in Antique Copper from PSI.

Satine/bloodwood would look nice. I've also done some red pearloid cellulose acetate with copper that looked outstanding. I was sad when that one sold. Was kind of hoping it wouldn't so I could keep it for myself! (And, of course, I can't find any pictures of it now.)

That's a good idea, I actually have a couple blanks that are made from shredded money

Try bubinga with copper.
