I have been working with computers for 20+ years and I have NEVER heard that term. Are they talking about formatting it and reinstalling?
 
If edicehouse works where I think he does, they are going to reformat the hdd and install a network approved image of all the software allowed and several items that run in the background and eatup resources
 
You know that NGEN doesn't really change anything right?

As long as DON CIO is in charge it will still be a contracted solution but now people with an IT MOS will have some more shore duty opportunities.
 
Slick = only company purchased software, running in Company approved configurations, monitoring systems, etc.

My advice would be to stay away from IAP, Facebook, twitter, et al at work!

We are GO GO - Govt Owned, Govt Operated...

Navy is going GO CO Contractor Operated...

My current billet is pretty plugged into this. We start taking over the transport roles in March of 12, and then roll the rest off before the end of COSC.

Navy...they go their own way/plan kinda like Guadalcanal.

But the DoD MADE us add FB back.

USMC blocks IAP...but not FB and twitter etc.

go figure
