Being layed up with a bad back allows for some computer time.
Anyway I was thinking back when I started my hobby business and it was strickly scrollsaw work. At that time I was looking for a hook or a promotional item I could hand out with my name and number on and also serve as a nice gift for buying from me. Well I used to hand out promotional pens. These actually were a decent pen with engraving. Buying in hundreds I was able to get good deals and the company I dealt with used to run pomotional prices too. At one time I switched to key chains because I handed out so many pens I thought I needed a change. Well this all stopped a couple years ago when I started making pens. Couldn't have my pens being compared to the cheap promo pens.

Now there maybe something there for someone here such as pen cases. They are a very good company to deal with.
But the bigger point of mentioning this is if you don't think there is competion out there for your pen dollars then you are kidding yourself. I am very sure many companies use these people for promotional items and there are many other companies out there such as this. So trying to make it in this hobby is not easy.
