Have the turncrafter pro, previous version. Pretty good, does not last quite as long as a more expensive lathe, and the tolerances aren't quite as precise, but it is good enough. Gets the job done and keeps going.

Terry; The lathe availability date keeps being pushed back. I see it has an ETA of Mid Oct, so unless someone here is a tester, it is unlikely you will get any responses. Even if someone here is an evaluator, they are probably forbidden to say so under a "non-disclosure agreement". This lathe has been pushed back repeatedly. never a good sign.

My dad just got his and is very happy with it. He had the old Turncrafter VS and upgraded to this one. Says it has plenty of power for what he does, tops an pens, and is comparable in quality to the older TC.

This should tell you something! A Jet 1014VSI is close to the same price. If you make pens for sale, waiting for this likely albatross would have cost you more than the difference between the two lathes. For a little more money you can have a Delta 1 HP lathe. I admire the PSI loyalty, but sooner or later, you have to realize that they are prime purveyors of JUNK!
