I really enjoy taking a piece of leftover wood and turning it into something unexpectedly pretty.
This was a small piece of locally harvested white birch burl, stabilized with the bark left on, then cast with yellow alumilite with yellow mica powder. I did not paint the tube but the little bit that shows is only there if you look really hard.
The blank was paired with a executive kit with rhodium plating.
I'll carry this until I make something prettier; probably this weekend.
