Color Shift Mica

I have been playing with using mica. Not as a colorant in resin but applied and then cast. A process used in other crafts, brushing on a size and allowing it to dry to a tack and then dusting the mica on. This is a color shift mica applied to black resin (turned thin and fluted) then cast into clear. The effect is not as striking as I would like but am working on an improvement.

Wow! Pretty cool. What causes the color change? Is it angle of light hitting it, or temperature change, or ??

Angle of the light. I think that's why it is less pronounced than anticipated. My next try will be to cut the black resin as an octagon. I think the angles will give it a much stronger effect.
