John contacted me to produce "cedar plug" fishing lure bodies using exotic wood for his custom heads. They are uniquely shaped and should leave a substantial bubble trail, that is a good thing to attract fish. Fun project and very, very nice stainless steel heads so I don't have to turn and sand lead.

Very nice. And to think if I loose a $5 lure I cringe. I can only imagine how I'd feel if I lost one of those. On the other hand It feels pretty good when you do something from making your own equipment to filling a tag!

Nice job on the lures. I was curious as to what the finished lure would look like. I did a google search hoping to get a hit to his lures. There are way too many John Burkes. Do you know if he has a web site?

Very nice. I suspect folks will keep their fingers crossed as they toss them into the ocean. However, at times I do encourage those who have my pens to actually use them - I tell them "It's just a pen, use it." ;)

He will have something after he gets going. This is an early proof of concept production. I think he machines them. Nice

I have lost a couple due to the angler error of a guy in the boat. Fish sometimes can make you look bad. A friend lost a $50 lure of mine and I lost another friend's $70 lure. Both were replaced with same item and life went on.

Look at the photo with the hooks - those are the finished lure. Just run a line through and crimp to the hook. You troll them in the ocean.
