Just did these up today. They are slated for Christmas gifts.
Left to right:
Lyptus - Friction Polish
Camphor - Friction Polish
Buckeye burl (Orange Flame) - CA
Camphor - CA
Pecan - Friction Polish

The orange one is stabilizer Buckeye Burl Flame Orange from Wood Craft (WC).

I got the scoops at WC too. I should be seeing my Ice Cream scoops in a couple of days. (I hope)

I doubt you will bend the ice cream scoops. They aren't big scoops like Baskin Robbins used to have. Those things were small snow shovels.

These Brass Ice Cream Scoops are maybe (going by memory) 2 1/2" across. They are pretty sturdy anyway.
