Well...Cody went in today for follow-up scans and tests. One of the scans came back with a spot on his lung. They are almost positive that it is cancer. They will be draining it on Friday and then run some tests on the fluid. They will not be doing a biopsy on the cells because they are almost sure of the diagnosis. They are pretty sure that they will have to do surgery to remove spot/mass. Please remember Cody and his family in your prayers, as I know that you have been great prayer warriors in the past. His mom did not take the news very well today. It was difficult news for us here at the church too. Even when you know the Lord is in control and He even knows the hairs on our head and can care for our every need like no one else... the news is still tough.

This is what we know for now, but obviously things can change between now and when they do the procedure. I'm praying for healing and that there will be no mass to remove when they get in there!

Thanks for your prayers for the family,
Dan (YMD)

For all the new people, Cody is a 13 year old boy in our church who was diagnosed with Bone Cancer (osteosarcoma) and had his shoulder removed and replaced with a cadaver bone. He under went 6-7 months of treatment. Alot of our kind and compassionate IAP members helped out by making pens for a fundraiser that we held at our church the end of September to help the family out. Your consistent and continued thoughts and prayers for Cody and his family are greatly appreciated.

I will be praying for ALL concerned about Cody and this includes the church and all those who have been praying for Cody before. There are always some who need a special hug from the healer!
As you stated God is in control of this whole situation. We know the healer!!

Cody will be a having a port placement this morning and he will start the chemo on Monday. This Chemo is a more aggressive combination than he took the previous time. The doctor did not tell Cody's parents what to do but was not very encouraging about the probability for success. Less than 20%.

Even though our Lord is the creator and is in control of everything, those statistics are still tough. I also know that attitude can effect recovery and the healing process too. So when you think of Cody and his family during the days ahead, say a prayer for them. My hope and faith is in the Lord as we lift up this family.

YouthMinisterDan;

having been down that path with my first wife, let me encourage YOU by saying that having someone like you in their corner as they walk through this time is priceless. Thanks for passing along these updates. My heart goes out to Cody and his parents.

Prayers sent;

YouthMinisterDan, You be sure and tell Cody and his Family we have their back in this fight and if there is anything we can do you just say the word. Our thoughts and prayers will be with them.

He and his family, and you are in my prayers. Having lost a beautiful daughter at age 15 to a very rare form of cancer I know a little about what they are going through. The Lord gives us trials and we are told that they are within our strength to conquer them, but only he knows the outcome. Take care and stay strong.

Might not be worth a lot

I'm never quite sure how I stand with God, he always takes good care of me but I'm prone to sin. That being said I will ask him to do what is best for Cody and Cody's family.

That is all we can ask...is for God's will. God's sees the big picture and somethings we will not totally understand until we get to heaven.

Whatever happens to any of us is god's will. There is a reason for anything we experience or goes on in our lives. We must look for the good in every situation and cherish that.
Our prayers are with Cody and his family.
