Thanks for the comments guys.
First, one side of the blank is lighter than the other, a the cap just needs to be rotated 180degrees.
As far as the specifics of the kit, it is a Jr Gents II in Titanium Gold from CSUSA.
My finishing technique is using CA.
Sand Blank 320, 400. (sometimes just 400, sometimes 220,320,400)
Apply 2 coats of thin CA let cure for 1 min.
Apply 2 coats of Thick CA let Cure for 1 min, very light spray of Aresol Accelerator
Repeat thick as many more times as I feel like (usually 2).
Sand with 320 with lathe on mid speed,
Sand all ridges out lengthwise with lathe off.
Sand 400, All MM
Plastic Polish
Carnuba Wax
One thing I am figuring out on my finish though is I think I am putting too much CA on. Lately I have been putting more on to prevent sanding though, but have noticed a lot more chipping on the finish when separating from the mandrel. I just took apart an older on with a lot less finish and realized the CA breaks cleaner with a thinner layer and tends to chip with a thicker. So I am probably going to cut down on the Thick CA layers.
Pete I'll PM you about your request.
