Made this the other day when I picked up a board of this cocobolo, even though it is straight cut the grain makes a big u turn so it comes out like a cross cut. Nice stuff any way..

CA/Blo finish, buffed with rewnwax

Did that present any turning problems? I tried turning some cross-cut maple once upon a time. Went through four blanks before I decided it wasn't meant to be. Do you have to be a member of some sort of secret society before you can do it successfully? What's the secret? We newbies would be grateful to know.

Thanks for all the kind words,
Proud papa (no secret society for turning cross cut but we do have a secrete handshake) I do sharpen a couple of times while turning cross cut hard woods though,
just take light cuts
