My wife got a Cricut mug press for Christmas and with the mugs she makes she also includes a coaster that matches the theme of the mug. The coasters are just simple ceramic rounds and we decided they needed a little something. I came up with these wooden surrounds.

If you do not mind a suggestion from me and if you do then just please ignore. But maybe a consideration would be to drill the hole deeper or use a thicker base so that the insert sits down some so that the mug bottom would be locked into the hole. This way it can not slide off or tip off the coaster. Whenever you raise the height of a coaster and use a slippery surface label it can happen. Most coasters are thin for that reason. Just a thought.
