More mud turning:
A friend has retired to his olive trees to produce wonderful olive oil - requested an olive oil cruet depicting the clouds (which he calls "the heavens") above the trees; steps:
Ball of porcelain wheel-thrown into the form, 12% larger than final size to account for firing-associated shrinkage.
Blue underglaze poured over the form.
Turned slowly as the cloudscape is initially developed with fan brushes, and then fingertips, Q-tips, and cosmetic brushes.
Bottom trimmed.
Bisque fired.
Glazed with clear zinc-free food-safe glaze.
Final fired.
Spout inserted:
This was a straight-across trade for fine oil.
Happy Friday! - Bob
