I've been intrigued lately with turning closed end cigar pens. This particular rollerball pen was turned from a piece of redwood burl that had a nice figure that simulated tobacco. I enhanced the figure even further using boiled linseed oil. The vintage cigar band was wrapped around the pen and attached with CA glue, and then the entire pen was given numerous coats of CA finish in order to cover and protect the cigar band. The pen was then wet sanded with Micro Mesh up through 12,000-grit and topped off with StickFast CA Gloss polish.
