I volunteered to give a demo on turning a Closed End Pen at the next meeting of the N.E Florida IAP Chapter. At the time I had only successfully made one closed end pen :frown: So I thought I had better get my act together and practice before the demo.

I got all the blanks from Glass Scratcher.

Your comments are appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Those too are fabulous! Looks like your practice paid off. Great collection. I especially like the blanks in the first and last pics.

I had a friend who went to medical school; motto was watch one, do one, teach one. Guess this applies to pens as well but not as scary.

GREAT job, Keith.

REMEMBER, to teach you have to EXPLAIN, too. Make sure you have an IDEA of what you will say while you are showing.

SHOW and TELL!!! Not always so easy, but I am SURE YOU can do it!!!!

Always be prepared!

Good Luck and good demoing!!!

Thanks for the comments folks. The first blank is my favorite as well.

Not as scary, you haven't seen me turn Bruce

Great job as usual. What type of chuck are you using to hold the blanks?

Neil, I tried unsuccesfully to make a mandrel. Twice. Finally I ordered the mandrel from Arizona Silhouette. It works great. I hold it using the 1/2" collet in my collet chuck. It is a bit of a loose fit, but if I snug the collet down good it holds fine.
