Close But No Cigar

This one was pretty close but still has some problems. Somehow I put a different size zircote spacer in one spot and also overturned it, can't even remember the last time that's happened. I wanted the sides to have ovals. I thought the solid strips would turn away but they didn't so I have stripes, doesn't look bad but not what I intended. I put a Pens plus finish on it and put it on one I had disassembled for a remake. I'll use it for awhile, if I can stand the feel of it being overturned.

I'm in the process of making another blank, hopefully the 3rd is the charm.

Disappointed with you but glad you are not satisfied with close enough. Trial and error blanks are no more than two or three for you to hit your goal! Go for it!

The worst part is making exactly what you wanted on the first try, then mess up on the next 4 or 5, and wonder what is going on!
