I use the standard long click pen with a Schmidt pencil insert from exotics. It sells better for me because the inserts are interchangeable. Pen/pencil.

That sounds like an interesting idea, Lupe. Do you have a picture of that would work? This is the Schmidt DSM pencil mechanism from Exotic Blanks, yeah?

Some months ago, only CSUSA sold the Clicker pencil which isn't the case anymore. Now I don't know where to find it. But I have no regret for personnally I was not that satisfied with this kit.

IMHO the best, in terms of reliability, pencil kits of the market are:
a) Berea's Perfect Fit Convertible, Cigar pencil kit, El Grande Ball point convertible (all of the previous kits use a Schmidt 2006 pencil mechanism)
b) CSUSA's Artist Sketch

Now el_d's tip above is really promising. I'll give a try soon for the Schmidt mechanism is the essence of the kits' reliability I mentioned above. With this alternative we have an interesting clicker pencil mechanism.

Lupe, thank you for sharing this tip.

Christos.

I got the schmidt pencil mech from exotics, size .5 & .7.

The only modification I needed to make was to trim off the small lip/ring that's a bit larger at the end of the Schmidt. I place it in my collet and trim it nice and neat. Before my collet I used an exacting knife to trim it off.

I've had customers buy the trio (.5,.7, & easyow9000) for 1 long click. Then, after they get used to the feel of a quality pen/pencil they come back for another because "its a pain always switching them out" but they're all interchangeable.

I have used it for the Sierra click also.
