Cleaning Micro Mesh

This might seem silly but does anyone clean there micromesh pads. :cool: After they dry out you have the dried slury grit on them, kind of like chalk. I was just wondering if any out there cleans theirs off and if so how do you do it?

I use to clean them with a soft brush under running water then lay them on a towel to dry. This caused them to grow legs. :eek: Actually I found my cats love to chew them causing them to have very clean shiny teeth. :biggrin:
Now I put them in a sock and throw them in with the laundry.

I use Dawn, hot water, soak for a while until wife finds out I have taken the sink. I rub the against each other and then rinse real well. Put onto dry paper towels to dry over night. I have done this four times to one set and so far only one has shown separation of the pad from the grit fabric. Two sets are in my workshop. One for finishing CA and the other for wood ready for Tung oil application.
 
I only use my mm with water. I dip them often. Or else, drip plenty of water on them from a squirt bottle. Always clean. But now, I safety pen my fiber pads to my apron for cleaning. I use them dry. Think I am going to try them wet. lets have fun.
 
I use a stiff brush under the water faucet outside. If wife caught me trying to wash them in the washing machine, I would probably catch a lot of flack! :)
 
In jean's pockets and into the washer. Or, use a mesh bag.
Do a good turn daily!

Tried that but I was just so dizzy when I came out..... Next time I think I'll wear them in the shower and see if that works...
