City truck full of wood!

I about had a wreck a few minutes ago taking my daughter to her camp. A city truck full of mesquite, oak of some sort, and maybe some willow or other unknown tree trunks was going down the street in front of me. Obviously it was on the way to the dump or wherever they get rid of large pieces.

I wanted to follow the truck or honk and have them load what they could in my car but thought otherwise. Now I'm regretting my inaction.

What a waste of 1,000 or so pens, bowls, batons, candlesticks, etc!

Anybody here deal with city crews or other tree companies to get wood?

Such dumps are an excellent source of wood. Call your city hall and ask where they dump. I'll betcha they will give permission to scavenge what you want.
