Churchill fountain pen

There is a silver ring that just slides on the housing of the Churchill fountain pen. There is the possibility of the user losing the ring when they replace the ink cartridge. Does anyone have any suggestions how to "attach" the ring to the housing so it doesn't get lost?

Yup, strong possibility.

I have a gold ring sitting in my cash box as a reminder after showing a customer how to change the rollerball refill. Put it back together and sent them on their way. After they were gone, I looked down at the table and there was the ring.

Little bugger fell off and I didn't even notice it until it was too late.
