So, a couple of months ago, I took a class in chip carving. It was enough to get me started; this is me continuing and still learning!

As a friend asked, 'Aren't there machines that do this?" The short, snippy answer is 'Yes, my right arm and a knife.' But there are also CNC machines and their carvings would have been perfect, but they wouldn't have been my carvings.

It's more craft than art (fool your friends!) and requires patience. Hope you like the pictures

I have always been amazed at chip carving, and carving of most any kind but I am not artistic in and eye coordination alone. I can't draw without line/edge tools.

I admire your work! The first image looks carved in the thumbnail, but it sure looks raised above the surrounding in the full size on my computer!
