My first attempt at a chessboard.

Made using Birdseye Maple and Cherry burl. Frame is Cherry.

Finish is Danish oil and will be adding Waterlox in a few days when the oil is dry.

that's really nice iv been wanting to make on of those for a long time.thats the reason I got a lathe to make chess pieces
 
I play a pretty poor game of chess (worse at checkers!), BUT, I bet I'd be pretty impressive on a board like that!!!

Stephen... U Dun Good! That is an incredible board.
