Beautiful Pen Ernie.
Glorious Cherry Burl Blank,
I don't know if it is a Reflection off the Chrome, in Photographs 1 and 3 it appears that the Nose End of the Blank, is not square to the Hardware, and there appears to be a Gap between the Blank and the Nose Cone.
What did you use to Square and Reduce the Ends of your Blank?
I love your Choice of Hardware and Superb Oil Finish.
Regards,
Brian.

Very nice! I do love the knurls as my carry pens (slopping around in my pants pocket).

Beautiful blank.

How did you apply Tru-Oil? I tried it as a friction polish and couldn't build thickness.

I use it the same way as wipe on poly. I turn the lathe on 600 and use blue shop towels to apply the finish while it's turning. I let it set 3 to 4 hours and then hit with 0000 steel wool. Then apply another coat. That pen has 8 or 9 coats on it. After I put all the coats on I let it sit a week to fully cure. Then hit with 8000 and 12000 micromesh followed by Plastx
