I was on my way home this afternoon and one of he local sawmills had a sign stating "antique wood". Know in that wood with a story adds value, i stopped and talk to the owner. As I showed him my personal pen and as talked about own making he stated he had some wood from Chelsea Piers. Having grown up on the west coast, I really had no clue what he was talking about, but bought two 6" blocks from him. As I was putting them in my car, there was a strong diesel smell to them.
Here is some history regarding the piers. Very interesting. Does anyone think there is a market for these? The sawmill has a fairly good supply.
